I was infected with chlamydia by my girlfriend a year ago. I received treatment, got cured, but she did not. Then I had unprotected sex with her again because I thought she was cured. After I found out she had not had treatment, I went to the clinic to get another std test. While I was there, I told the doctor my situation and she just gave me another bottle of medecine without waiting on my results to come back. So, I took the medecine (which were some pills I had to take for 7 days) and I thought I was fine. It has been 9 months since my second treatment and I think I'm feeling minor chlamydia symptoms again! It doesnt make since because I havn't had unprotected sex since my ex-girlfriend (9 months ago). Is it a possibility that I'm still infected from my ex-girlfriend?? and that I was given treatment too early??

You may have a Gonorrhea co-infection. Where you tested for that as well? The medication that kills the chlamydia bacteria doesn't necessarily kill the Gonorrhea bacteria.

I would recommend you go to your local health department or doctor and request a Gonorrhea and Chlamydia test. The test should involve both a swab from the tip of your penis AND a urine sample. This test will be able to determine whether the infection still exists.

Time is of the essence. Allowing this to persist could impact your ability to get someone pregnant.

Hope this helps.

Go back to your doctor. Why is your lady friend not getting treated that is absolutely disgusting she is putting herself in danger of more serious health problems. Is it a money or insurance problem because if that is the case she can get free treatment at a clinic. People do it everyday. I think you should talk to her.

It is possible but not likely if you took the medication as directed. How ever I would go back and request a recheck to put your mind at ease. Hope this helps
