I am 64 years old & don't quallify for medicare,yet

I am 64 years old & don't quallify for medicare & don't have insurance.I was told a year ago that I have cataracts in both eyes.I'm so worried.

free surgery in this era? unfortunately I doubt it is possible, nothing ahppens for free in this country, if our cataracts are very symptomatic then you could consider some sort of a payment plan with the hospitals, otherwise wait to get medicare, good luck

Had cataract surgery July 16 and 30, 2015. No shots, just eyedrops prior to surgery, and drops after the procedure, some for several weeks. My doctor was Jason Swanner at Callahan Eye Hospital in Birmingham, AL. They did a "twilight" sleep, giving meds to relax you. You do not feel pain because the pre-op eye drops numbs the eye. The procedure took about 5 minutes. An easy surgery, with awesome results for me and many others.
