Honestly it's NOT hard to contract HIV. Unprotected sex with anyone spreads it. ALWAYS use protection. If you have a partner who is against it---get another partner. You can get it from any body fluid swapping. Harder to get it kissing, but it is a possibility. Much more likely to get it from sex.

All bodily fluids die quickly once outside the body. You can't get anything even if you rub an old bloody towel on your genitals. Of course, that's just gross.

By the book it is a fragile virus an needs a host to live. Most blood cells die when they make contact with the air because they are no longer being provided there normal resources from the host.

Though this is "hard to catch" don't use it as an excuse for not getting tested.

You can only get it if you come into contact with body fluids such as blood or semen. You can't get it by just being around a person who has it or from shaking hands or hugging. It is not transmitted through the air like a cold.

I dont think that it is difficult to catch. If you come in contact with it you catch it nothing difficult about that. I think certain factors put you more at risk than others. If you are a straight man Or woman who has sex with only straight men or woman and dont use needles as well as your partner then I believe you are at a lower risk than a gay man who uses needles or having sex with a gay man that uses needles.

It is very easy and simple to to acquire the disease if the other person is having aids .It is transmitted by sexual activity, by blood and tissues, by contaminated needles and syringes , by organs and and tissue donations and from mother to child. But not from outside the body.
