My best friend thinks he has gonorrhea and he is going to the doctors soon to be tested. He is coming to visit tomorrow and we are just friend not intimate at all but we share drinks like he always takes a sip of my coffee or beer whatever it is..is it possible for me to catch whatever he has through saliva? any advice greatly appreciated

no. gonorrhea is a bacterial infection in him. it can not be trasmitted unless sex occurs

Gonorrhea is one of the most common infectious diseases. Anyone who has any type of sex can catch gonorrhea. The infection can be spread through the mouth, vagina, penis, or anus.

If he has been sexually active and exposed to STDs... I don't see why you would need to share dishes. Get him aside privately, and tell him that you are uncomfortable with that and if he wants something you'd be happy to get him his own.

In the meantime, it is good that he's seeing a doctor as that disease is curable, but if left untreated can lead to terrible things, including death.

I'm uncomfortable sharing any dishes or drinking from anyone's glass except my own daughter's. Better safe than sorry, right?

Just make sure you tell him privately as soon as possible so you don't embarrass him in front of someone else.
