Aspirin is contraindicated for some conditions and shouldn't be taken along with certain drugs, so you should not start taking it without consulting your doctor first. When daily aspirin is recommended, it is only a low-dose (basically baby aspirin, although they now sell low-dose aspirin just for this purpose), NOT a regular tablet.

It is true that aspirin can be beneficial for thinning the blood. After I had a heart attack at 39 years old, my regimen includes an aspirin every day (325mg), which is a regular aspirin. Your husband shouldn't be taking a dose that large however as a preventative measure. A baby aspirin seems to be more in line. Also keep in mind that if he is prone to stomach problems, aspirin could contribute to those problems. If he is having bad circulation problems though, he should really see his doctor, there could be many other causes for what he is feeling. Hope this helps.

Circulation problems are not to be trifled with. Just because aspirin makes you feel better, it doesn't make it a circulatory problem. SEE A DOCTOR. What happens if you are just masking the symptoms of something in is early stages that is easily treated now?

Get a proper diagnosis, and proper treatment. Aspirin increases the risk for bleeding and primarily affaects the lungs in toxic doses (I don't know where the heart and kidney bit came from). Aspirin causes somewhere between 6,000 and 16,500 deaths in the US every year. Although aspirin can help prevent heart attack and stroke, not everyone benefits from it.

You should never take over the counter medicine daily without a doctors supervision. Although a low dose aspirin can be beneficial for some heart patients under their Doctor's supervision, it can also do damage to your kidney's and your stomach as well as make you bleed more if you are hurt or have surgery. Which is why you need to have a Doctor's supervision so that those possible side effects are monitored and prevented. If your husband is suffering from circulation problems he should be talking to his Doctor ASAP and not trying to self-medicate. You could be hiding a potentially dangerous situation that needs to be addressed. Please seek out medical advice from your Doctor. This is not something you want to mess around with. Best wishes.

You're correct in your knowlege of the benefits of aspirin with regard to thinning the blood and preventing clots to some extent, BUT, you are not a doctor and so you don't know EXACTLY WHAT your husband is going through when he complains of poor circulation, and you don't know the full extent of the ramifications of taking Aspirin on a daily basis will do to him, so take him to see a doctor, and if you wonder about the benefits of aspirin in your husband's situation, ASK YOUR DOCTOR, and go from there. It takes a lot of knowledge to be a doctor, so don't try to be one based on "women's intuition" or somesuch nonsense. Your husband's life may depend on it. God Bless you.

Asprin, when used with a doctor's supervision, can be very beneficial for many reasons. The benefits far outweigh the risks in most patients, however, I will stress again it is of vital importance to consult with your physician before beginning any drug/exercise/diet routine change!!

i don't think your hubby can judge how good or bad his circulation is with or without aspirin.
However 1 tab aspirin a day is a very good thing if he doesn't have a stomach ulcer or reflux.
For aspirin to affect the kidney it needs to be taken in high doses .
Also this 1 tab needed to be taken after food (NEVER on empty stomach) otherwise it may cause ulcer & possibly bleeding.

The only thing bad that I've heard about aspirin is that you can get a stomach ulcer from taking too much of it.
