You are not destined to die at the same age as your parents. For one thing you are informed and can make certain lifestyle choices to help prevent things. Women who exercise and eat healthily are less likely to get breast cancer and heart disease. You can go get a genetic test to see if you have the genetic marker for breast cancer, if you do the Doctors will give you options. Some women choose to wait and see, others get mastectomy's and reconstruction. Keep in mind though that not all people who get breast cancer have that genetic marker. Don't let your family's health history stop you from starting a family, enjoy life, and pass on a beautiful legacy from your parents to your own kids. Live healthy and teach your kids to do the same, and remember, every year brings medical advances, many things that were death sentences years ago are now curable or manageable conditions. Good Luck.

I could count on that possibilities are top that you're going to increase some of the 2 sicknesses however I would not are living in worry of dieing early. You're going to die while you are meant to die so why waste time being paranoid over it? Sorry if that got here off somewhat harsh, I simply suppose you will have to begin a household and no longer base such choices on what could potentially occur due to the fact that earlier than you are aware of it, you will be too ancient to have kids and feature good exceeded the age of 39 and be dwelling in remorse.

Like the real answers say; talk to your doctor! I inherited genes for heart disease (thanks dad!) and have now outlived every ancestor from that side of the family (most died in their 30s)! What I would consider the most important question to be "Is there multiple generation history of early death" among your ancestors. If the answer is yes you can take steps to prevent your own early death! I just wish my two kids had paid more attention to their health.

If (and only if) you have 'bad' genetic code; you *could* pass it on to your kids. In my case that's exactly what happened but I still don't regret fathering a son and daughter.

I can give you advice about the breast cancer.
Because your mom developed breast cancer, there's a pretty good chance you will too. You might want to consider this:
Some women who fear developing breast cancer because their mom, sister etc died from it, especially at a young age, undergo masectomies even when they don't have cancer. If all the breast cells are removed they can't develope into breast cancer.
A less drastic alternative is breast reduction surgery. The masectomy means no more breast cancer. The reduction surgery only lowers the risk about 50%.
