Has anyone ever had lymphnoma? Or infected lymph nodes that stuck around after you were sick? I am sick again and I found this hard lump below my right ear at the angle of my jaw- it doesnt really hurt though- but I found it before I got sick- I have been coughing for over 2 weeks and have plugged ears- I saw 2 different docs and they wont prescibe me antibiotics because they said all I need is antihistamine. But my cough is deep and there is a lot of congestion- since the lump was there before I got sick- I am wondering if it came from the last time and stayed...any feedback would be great ( I had a ct scan done but wont know results for a week!)

My grandfather died from that disease back in 1985. I haven't heard of anything new they have come out with. But it is cancer.

Don't panic yet! Swollen lymph nodes don't automatically mean cancer! It might not be an infection either, though. Doctors are reluctant to prescribe antibiotics unless it's absolutely necessary, since it can create resistant strains of germs. All you can do is wait for the test results. And if it makes you feel better, you can always get more tests done just to rule out something serious and get it treated.

the antihistamine part is ok but you should also look for a decongestant as well they can come in the same pill .
i am glad they did not give the anti biotic right off that's how we get super bugs.
follow up with the doc for sure but also try the decongestant too
drink some hot drinks avoid dairy like milk too much
and get some candy type things you suck on for your sore throut . wait for the results of the test ct and good luck

It could be large because you are sick (that's what they do)

I would double check with another Dr if you feel like you need to!!!
