Cammie is an idiot! She has no idea what it's like to live w/ diabetes. I'm a type 2 (family history on both sides) am 5'1 and weigh 129 pounds. I'm a healthy weight and have been small all my life. My sugar is out of control if I don't take my meds every day. I walk and do the whole nine. anyways, the diabetes cook books are wonderful as long as you use the measurments exactly. They are tasteful (sometimes) but the desserts are usually wonderful. After being diabetic gestationally, then type 2 for 2 years I now cannot tell the difference between diet and reg. coke. (amazing huh?) I've gotten all my cookbooks from the book store, or the library. Try it!

People with diabetes can eat anything and everything- although not in one sitting.People who publish "Diabetic foods" cookbooks just want to make a buck.

It is a simple matter of counting carbs to control your blood sugar.
Perhaps you shouldn't have a roll and chocolate cake with dinner but you can choose one of the two.

Since most people with diabetes - type 2 need to lose weight- you might want to count calories too.

Eat lots of veggies and fresh foods.Lots of fiber too. Just the same advice to give anyone who wants to lose weight.
Good luck and you may e mail me if you'd like more info.
You can join the American diabetes association if you like. They have tons of training.

Obviously Cammie is not a diabetic......
Stay away from splenda... it is a natural sugar... it just takes your body longer to process, but it is still a SUGAR!

I make a great sugar free cheese cake..... get wheat germ or s/f cookies... crush them for the crust. Place cottage cheese, sugar free jello (make the jello as directed and pour in blender with the cottage cheese) and blend. Pour into crust and refrigerate. If you use strawberry jello..top with strawberries ... but watch the fruit intake... all fruit has sugar in it.

I wish i could eat anything i want.... regretfully that is not the case with diabetes...exercise, manage your levels and you will be fine... it is not the worse disease to have.... I have been a diabetic for over 35 years!

Good luck!

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.

And get this - it has nothing to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past. It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.
