he never told me about them. I discovered them myself. I have since been checked and am ok. no sign of any disease. he was put on Aldara cream. He swears he has not been unfaithful, but we have been married for 20 years and he has never had any previous symptoms. The warts are on his behind only, do you think he is gay?

HPV can lay dormant for years, I think the longest case of exposure to the manifestation of the actual wart is 35 years. So it's possible. The other interesting thing about HPV is it needs a break in the skin in order to gain entry into the host body. If your husband was prone to acne as a younger man or had a heat rash, then it could have gained entry that way to. The last research i read said about 70 % of the worlds population has been exposed to the HPV.

first how do you know that it is and std? second just because they are on his butt doesnt mean he is gay.. come on you have been married to this guy for 20 years you should know him by now ask him about his problem see what he has to say..make him a dr apt and go in with him... warts are not always an std... i think you are way over reacting unles he has given you other signs of his cheating or his being gay.... talk to him talk talk talk that is the only way to solve anything.. good luck

well technically warts are very simple to get......that doesnt mean he is being unfaithful.....genital warts look different than regular warts.....common warts are caused by a simple virus so they are easily contracted.....so before you jump to conclusions get all the facts. If you have never worried about it before and you havent been suspicious of an affair before then maybe they are common warts and not an STD.

Have faith in your man. Like you said y'all have been together for 20 some odd years and there's not been any signs of infidelity. Take him at his word. I don't even know the guy and I believe that he wouldn't cheat on you. Have his doctor's run some tests to figure out what it really is that he has and go from there. And no I don't think he's gay. And you're welcome

Warts on ones' behind are not considered a std, personnaly, I do not think that I would bring it up either," What do you say, Honey ,I have warts on my butt?) and if are clear of any stds' I would reconsider my thought process on this, another thing is if he had them on his croth area he would be straight Right, but since they are on his butt, he is Gay? Does'nt make any sense

You should believe him.

He could have caught the virus from a previous relationship before you.

The HPV virus (genital warts) can lie dormant in someone for years without them knowing it before the disease shows itself as it has here.

Genital warts can lay dormant in your body for years, and they may have been farther up in that area and worked their way down to the outside recently.

Now, how they got there may be another question. He may have been abused. I would ask questions, but carefully just in case he had been abused earlier on in life. You don't want him to feel like he can't talk about it.

Good luck with this one, Chica!

It depends...are they just warts, or genital warts, did the doc say the were sexually transmitted? If yes, where did he tell you he got them from...a toilet seat or something? If they are STD then I'd say your name is pretty fitting!
