It is "possible" but highly unlikely. The germs count would have to be very high, and the amount of saliva would have to be very high... so if a few droplets land on your, wash it off, and don't worry that you'll develop oral herpes. I wouldn't sweat it at all. Him "spitting" on your lips isn't going to cause you to contract herpes, but it IS gross, in and of its own. If he spits on you, let him know you're not joking! If he doesn't take you seriously, a swift hit outside his head/smack across the face/ or return spit back on him should get the point across! It's not only unhygenic and potentially dangerous. In this case, two wrongs will make a right! :)

Herpes can only be transmitted by skin on skin contact for example. So unless he decides to kiss you and hes having an outbreak then hes just being a **** head to you. Tell him that having this virus is not something to joke about. Ask him if he knows that its NOT curable and if he really had it I'm sure that he wouldn't be so fast to try and pass it on to you especially if the two of you are good friends.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

No. Herpes is unfold via direct dermis to dermis touch. unlike a flu virus which you would be able to get in the process the air, herpes spreads via direct touch, this is, immediately from the area of an infection to the area of touch. case in point, in case you have a chilly sore and kiss somebody, you may flow the virus to their mouth. further, in case you have energetic genital herpes and characteristic vaginal or anal intercourse, you grants your better half genital herpes. finally, in case you have a chilly sore and placed your mouth on your companions genitals (oral intercourse), you grants your better half genital herpes.
