Generally common in young people , but low blood pressure is vague term, importantly if your blood pressure is generally low and you are asymptomatic, that means its not causing you any problems, only thing your doctor can advise is to increase caffeine/salt intake, But low blood pressure which has come on suddenly and causing you dizziness and fainting needs to be investigated by your doctor. In nutshell, if you have low blood pressure and no symptoms, consider yourself lucky and maintain healthy lifestyle, if on other hand, its come on recently and its giving you problems, you need to see doctor

It just happens to some of us. I also suffer low blood pressure. (23 female, slightly overweight) not sure what causes it. Aparently it is good for our hearts, because it can pump the blood around easier. However if it drops to low it can be dangerous, just like high blood pressure. Due to low blood pressure I get dizzy when a litle too hot and move to quickly. I also breathe slower than others, especially at night. Often people ask if i can breathe ok, cos they dont hear me breathe or see my chest rise and fall. I often feel weak aswell and quite tired alot. But I live life normally, Im happy and it hasnt stopped me doing anything. Doctors check my blood pressure more oftn then others now.

if it happens as a once off, it's probably due to tiredness or stress. If you are very fit or underweight it could drop also. You will need it checked regularly, take medication the doc gives you. He/She will probably run a few tests if it recurs to make sure it is not a sign of another illness. You may have low thyroid levels for example. For the moment try and rest.

Lopressor is a hypertension medication designed to make your blood pressure go down. If it is causing fainting than your pressure is too low. They typically want your pressure between 120-130 systolic. What are you considering low? Its also used for intervention in acute MI and Angina, either way its going to bring your pressure down. Talk to your physician about lowering your dose if it is causing problems.

When your blood pressure is too low you'll faint.
I don't know what your doctor will do, but I guess there exist some medicines to take when you've got a low blood pressure...

doc will do nothing for you I am afraid...
try regular meals+ plenty of water...
in case of sudden drop what helps: is a glass of Coca Cola, or a salty snack. also sitting with legs a little high for ca. 15 min.
