I love to sleep late at night. i usually sleep at 3am. for a past few days, i've been coughing at night and i couldn't sleep. while coughing, i have this ticklish feeling in my throat and a hissing-wistling sound too. could it be vocal cord dysfunction or just my imagination? oh, yeah, after that, i coughed out a thick mucus/ phlegm. what's wrong with me?

You can have one of many things wrong with you it could be allergic rhinitis and post nasal drip developed into sinusitus, it could just be sinusitus, but then again it could be asthma. See a GP or an ENT to start and if they feel you have asthma they can refer you. Does the problem go away during the day? Allergies tend to be worse at night and early morning.
