Having asthma is NOT COOL!

Imagine you cant breath, your so exhausted you cant sit up, your blood oxygen is very low, and your so ill the you have to be raced to hospital in a ambulance. They struggle to stabilise you for over 3-4 hours, and talking about putting you into ICU,(intensive care unit).

Believe me this is very scary as an adult, imagine how it would feel if it was a child. It took the hospital over four hours to stabilise me, before sending me to a ward, and kept under surveillance for 24 hours. I was jab, poked, blood test, and x-rays, i also had disgusting stuff shoved down my throat, or injected into the IV, which hurt like hell (Potassium). I was eventually released from hospital a week later, but was far from well, having trot back and forth to my doctor, two or three times a week, for about a fortnight.

Just glad it was not my daughter or any other child. I don't go any where with out Ventolin, and my family, friends and I never take asthma lightly.

Having nearly died ONCE with asthma is far from COOL!

YOU DON'T WANT ASTHMA!!! It is not a contagious disease. However I would have gladly traded places with anyone when I was pregnant with my son,.....and my choices were to have an abortion and live,....Have him and possibly die. I ONLY took 20 doses a day (OUT OF THOSE SO CALLED COOL INHALERS) to build my lungs up. Still those cool inhalers almost failed me,...I caught the flu a couple of days before I delivered my son and everything that had been done to build my lungs up had went to s***! I almost died during delivery because I couldn't breath. And if you still feel they are COOL! Then I had myself fixed so I couldn't have anymore children. And caught pneaumonia and almost died from it. I was DEATHLY ill!!!! That was another 4 day stay in the hospital.
I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want asthma so they can use those COOL inhalers!!! Sorry but you really need to know that asthma can be serious and can be deadly!!! I have only had pneaumonia 9 times. I would gladly trade places with anyone!!! But wouldn't wish this on anyone.

It is not something you can "catch".
You are either born pre-disposed to it or you're not.
Allergies, Acne and Asthma are closely related. Not saying you will always get all three, but I bet most people have at least 2 out of the 3.

It can 'come on' because of cold extreme weather, or some people suffer from it when they exert themselves (exercise induced)

Those inhalers that you think look 'cool' can be really bad for your heart so they are nothing to be played around with.

Stick with being healthy for as long as you can. You'll be glad you did.

Either you have it or you don't. Some have it during childhood, some have it much later in life.

Common allergens (irritants which trigger the asthma attack) are pollens from flowers, dust mites, smoke, cat/dog/rabbit fur, heavy rainfall, sudden change in weather, and really cold temperature.

No really good reason for anybody to desire to have it. It's a CHRONIC illness, which means it can't be cured. Once infected, all you can do is just control it by medication and a conscious effort to stay away from the common allergens mentioned.

I have a form of asthma... BPD... not bipolar disorder... Bronhistis P...displiasia,,, (rediculous medical word) which is the scaring in the lungs. I didn't volunteer for it, but sure... it's fun ;-) You get to rephrase Vader's line. "Luke...I'm..." and you get to play the role of the kid in the wheel chair from Malcom in the Middle when your having a real *** hard time breathing. Oh! those inhalers... Albuterol.. so cool... show off for the girls. C'mon... is anyone going to buy that?

Yah, having lungs so weezy you can't go play with your friends outside, is loads of fun. If he could my seven year old would give you his asthma, so you could try it out!
