I had two stents fitted in the same artery in September 2005. I am doing fine thank you and I do the same as I did before having the procedure done. The only difference is that now I walk for at least a half hour, but usually one hour every day. I have a treadmill. I love to dance and do so whenever I can. I look after my garden. I dig and prune and plant. You name it I do it. I have been up in the attic and on top of the garden shed.... and just carry on as usual.

I was a bit cross when I found that I had to have a stent fitted because I had always been careful to eat a healthy diet and I had given up smoking almost a year before and never drank alcohol. I blame it on sheer stress so I now try to manage stress better.

I too carry the nitrolingual spray with me everywhere but I have never had to use it thank God. I have a typed list if my meds plus the card given to me at the hospital (stating the side of the procedure) held onto the spray with an elastic band. I just toss it into my handbag like a lipstick. It will be there should I ever need it.

I could go on, but I will just wish you all the very best........You will be alright. There is nothing to worry about. People have gone through a lot more than that and are living life as they have always done. Whenever I think too much and get scared I talk to my Angel and everything is alright again. X

My friend had two stents inserted in his heart back in May; he ran a 1/2 marathon in August. He's doing well; he carries Nitro with him wherever he goes, but has only had to use it once since.

He does pretty much whatever he did before, although he does feel a bit anxious sometimes, wondering if this twinge or that pain is his heart acting up again. As time goes on, that is becoming less as he's getting used to how he feels with the stents in place.

I had two stents fitted in June 2005, and three more in August, now on medication to try to resolve problem. The first two blocked up. I too have G>T>N spray, unfortunately I also suffer angina attacks on excersion, other than that I manage a fairly normal life, as long as you uphold your eating and exerciseing, and live a healthy life, no smoking and moderate drinking if you must.
