Is this a general question for vegans? Are you asking whether a vegan is morally okay with eating their own excrement from the point of view of being a vegan?

Even though it is a pretty disgusting thought, I guess that a vegan's own excrement would be vegan because it would be their own, even if it was strictly speaking an animal product. From the point of view of whether it was vegan or not, then it would be no different from eating one's own nails or hair.

I don't know whether it contains any nutritional value though.

But, I don't know whether a vegan could eat someone else's excrement. Maybe, if it was freely given, but I am not so sure.

For all you squeamish types: look away now!!

In a survival context, it's possible to eat faeces and drink urine but not your own: consuming your own waste product is an easy way to poison yourself. The guy that taught me said it's best if you pair up with a diabetic as their urine will contain a lot of sugar and be much sweeter.

I consider myself lucky to have never had to put this knowledge in to practice.

Also note - excrement is full of bacteria from the intestines which would do you no good at all. Urine is sterile when fresh. You can survive for months without food as long as you have liquid.

If you really want to eat ****, go get a McHappy meal.

I'm surprised most people here are saying you can, i guess they are just trying to wind you up or something.

Unlike urine, excrement contains many harmful bacteria and its likely you'd get a stomach upset.

In fact, some countries specifically state that excrement is not to be eaten in the rules for thier brothels for this reason. ( I kid you not - see the statute laws for the Netherlands ! )

yes, you can, it probably won't taste particularly nice but you can eat it. A more accurate question would be 'should i eat my own excrement'? The answer for you, probably, would be, yes, you should eat your own excrement.

The simple answer to this and all your questions are as follows. You obviously need help, however you are not going to receive this help on this or any other Internet chat room. You need professional help, the sort of help that is only administered under anaesthesia, or some sort of 1 to 1 psycological assesment. Please get that help because you can then stop bothering the normal people of the world with your twisted thoughts and views.

You can, but it's not really a good idea.
While you can shortly stave off dehydration by drinking urine, eating excriment is just asking for a nasty infection.
That and there's very little nutritional value. All that's comming out is what was undigestible or already drained of as much nutrients as possible (at the time).

Coprophagia is the name for doing this.

People have done it through desparation and mental illness.

Human faeces is poisonous and has almost no nutritional value and as such should never be eaten - grass is more useful as a survival food in extreme circunstances.

Yes, you can, but I have no idea why you would want to. The danger comes from other people, from bacteria, E-Coli. Your immune system controls the bacteria in your gut, but gets hit hard from bacteria from someone else's gut. This was the reason for the great Spinach recall recently.

There was this really...lets say..."earthy" girl at my massage school who swore that boiling her own pee and drinking it gave her super immunity. Eww, I know. I have also heard of people watering their plants with menstrual blood to help them grow. I'm not sure about poop....that's about the extent of my knowledge on this subject.
