The presence of sugar in your urine is a classic sign of diabetes. But since you asked this question in the diabetes section, you probably already know this, neh?

You see, normally when you eat something it's broken down into a bunch of sugars and other stuff in your blood. Your pancreas then spits out insulin which lets your cells absorb the sugar. If for some reason you don't have enough insulin in your blood, the sugars just pass through your system and end up in your urine.

If this is proven to be the case with you, you'd have type 2 diabetes. Most diabetes cases are actually 'type 2'. Catching it early can help A LOT. If it's mild enough, you may only have to change your diet slightly. But even if it's severe, it's MUCH better to have it treated than to progress on to the real nasty side effects at the end.

Or it may be a false positive on a test. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! ( :

although it is a symptom of diabetes, it could also be caused by something else.

As a diabetic, I get sugar in my urine now and again. Usually when I've got Hyperglycaemia due to infection.

Just relax and wait for the test results to come back. If it was anything urgent, the dr would have rushed it all.

Take care and good luck

Spill into your urine? Never heard it put that way. It could be diabetes. That's why they are sending it to the lab for further testing. It depends on how much sugar there is. If you also have symptoms like, VERY thirsty, urinate a lot, reoccurring yeast infections......you could be diabetic. Don't panic, because it is treatable.

It'ss usually a problem with your pancreas and kidneys....a miscommunication sorta thing. Probably nothing serious.
