I've never thrown a non-profit event, but my mom has before so I'm going to try to remember second hand for you. I'm not sure in what order, but you'll need volunteers and donations. If it's a really good cause, people are usually willing to bake goods for you to sell, donate their artwork for you to sell, maybe a local band or two will be happy to volunteer their time. Call around, ask big businesses for donations to help pay for things, as this will make them look good if they are donating to a charitable cause. Maybe put an ad in your local paper stating what you're doing and what you need, there are still good people in this world who would be happy to help.

Anyway, good luck with your event!

Go to local vendors and see if they would be willing to donate the items for your shrimp boil. Also contact bands and see if they would do the event for just the publicity and maybe free food and drinks. The craft booths you'd have to get with local craft vendors and see if they have any ideas.
