How Sweet! If she's hard to please like a lot of teens. I would suggest you go with a party theme base on her favorite color. That way you're safe knowing that she'll like the party. And asking her what her favorite color is isn't going to make her suspect that you have a party planned for her.
Basing it on her favorite color makes it easy to pick out party decor like plates, cups, ballons, streamers, etc.

I think the best party idea for a girl this age would be an American Idol party. If you don't have it, rent (or buy) Karaoke Revolution or Karaoke Party Revolution. Make sure you have mics and an open space for the girls to perform. To make it even more fun, have a juice bar with fancy "cosmopolitan"-type drinks and provide glam makeovers for their performances. Videotape their performances if you can, they'll get a kick out of watching them later in the evening.

She's 14 so she's in junior high---decorate with her favorite color,you won't need a theme.Put their favorite music on,low as they will allow. Make up a sandwich tray-chips and dips-and plenty to drink.You make up the invitations, let her address them.Make sure that you allow her to have the party up to her normal bedtime.She will like the idea of you allowing her to stay up later than usual.You may want to ask some of the other parents to help you, if you have a huge turn-out.Rent you a movie and let them have their party.

I'd suggest getting someone who knows how to do penicures and manicures. They love that kind of stuff.
Buy the daughter some makeup, or something. I'm sure she'll be happy!

Get a really nice hotel suite at a resort for her and her best gal pals, order take out from her favorite restaurant, rent her favorite teen movies and let them feel grown up while you stay in a room nearby.

im only 13, so i think i know what would be good for your daughter!!!
ideas: you can give her a sleep over party with things like
modelling, manicuring, doing hairs, makeovers!! in fact you can give her like a makeover party!!!
