Fried Rice is exactly what it says - rice that is fried.
Boil up your rice first. Takes about 10 mins normally.
In the meantime fry up some tofu/veggie meat (ie, quorn)/vegetables. One of these options is enough.
Drain the rice and then fry it up with the above ingredients.
Add a few drops of Soy Sauce, or Curry paste if you want it spicy and hey presto - a tasty fried rice dish.
Oh, if you want it egg fried then for the last few minutes of cooking do this:
- move the rice to the sides of the pan, creating a hole in the middle.
- crack an egg or two into the gap. Let it fry up so it is white... break the yolk...
- stir in the egg amongst the rest of the rice dish.

Fried rice is such a simple and versatile dish. Ingredients are nearly limitless, and can be made to suit vegetarians/vegans or meat-eaters.
This is a simple recipe:
Tasty Fried Rice
Ingredients (use vegan versions):
1-2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/3 cup finely chopped onions
3/4 cup sliced baby carrots
1/2 cup frozen peas
1/2 cup thinly sliced cabbage
2 cups cooked white rice
2 tablespoons soy sauce
salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet. Add the chopped onions, carrots, peas and cabbage and stir frequently on a medium to high heat for 4-5 minutes.
Before adding rice, add a little more oil to prevent it from sticking to pan. Add rice and stir into mixture. Spoon in soy sauce, and stir until it coats the rice absolutely evenly.
Turn heat to low and add salt and pepper and stir evenly. Serve and enjoy!
Serves: 3-4
Preparation time: 12 minutes

Hi! I have a real easy recipe for fried rice. You can use any veg you like. For example i used 1 onion chopped, 1 red pepper chopped and seeds removed, Some mushrooms chopped. Fry them up with some veg oil. Put 1 bag of rice in a pot of boiling water for about 10-15 mins
Add 1 veg stock cube into the water. When rice is cooked add to veg and fry for another 5 mins or so. Stirring occasionally. Season and serve. You could add Quorn mince to the veg before you add the rice. Enjoy!!!

Fried rice is so adaptale, you can put anything you like in it. First of all boil your rice, then spread it out on a tray to cool, then add whatever you fancy to your wok i.e. tofu, veg, vegie sausage, anything really, then once it almost cooked to your liking throw in the rice, stir round until rice fried then serve. Hope this helps
