Some canned ('tinned' in UK) fruits are better than others.

Fresh fruits often arrive on the shelves many months after they are picked- they are often coated in insect wax to keep them 'fresh'. (If you pick your fruit off the tree then it is always better)

Tomatoes become healthier when tinned (due to concentrating factors), other fruits lose nutrients to their juice- so as long as you drink it all you will still get the vitamins.

Fruits canned skinned are less healthy since the skin contains more nutrients. And a tinned pear for example is actually a dwarf pear- but once placed in a can of water it absorbs large amounts through osmosis so you are getting less (this applies to all non-citrus).

Both are healty ways to eat fruit, but it is more healthy to eat fresh fruits as canned ones have had a lot of sugar added.

Some people might argue that it is healthier to have canned fruits cos the fruit was packaged and canned in the right temperature and time etc. and hasnt had an assistant touch money and then your fruit afterwards.

Many canned fruits are enhanced with syrups or sugar. Many also have preservatives.

Fresh fruits are always healthier or at least no less healthy than canned. Also, fresh fruits are usually eaten with the skin, and that's where a lot of the nutrients are.

Fresh fruits would be better. Canned fruits would have more added syrups in it. Moderation in fruits is also needed for patients with diabetes. Too much of fruits can increase your sugar also. Like eating only a slice of mango than eating the whole mango if you are diabetic. Fruits have natural vitamin C.

Fresh, of course. Canned fruit has preservatives and who knows if the metal is leaching into your fruit. Fresh is always best.

i would say , not just "fresh fruits" nowadays but "organic" fresh fruit, meaning tthey are grown without using chemicals than canned fruit, which was obviously went to a lot of process which required a lot of additives and preservatives. now for "organic" fresh fruits, don't be surprise to see "unexpected guests" inside some of the fruits which are, "worms". but that's ok, don't be alarm bec. their presence means, these fruits are really healthy and never been touched or sprayed on by chemicals. just wash them.

Fresh fruits of course! Canned fruits don't have as much vitamins because they've been processed, they're full of preservatives and additives.
