Well, it is like the doctor says to you i want you to take a 200 milligram tablet once a day of Tylenol or whatever. So that pill that says two hundred on it is the correct dosage of the medicine that is in that tablet, or capsule. So yes you can break a 400 milligram tablet and come up with two 200 milligrams .

There are 200 mg of the active ingredient in the tablet. If you break a 400 mg in two each half has 200 mg in it.
But some tablets should not be broken, so check with doctor or pharmacist first!

The active ingredients weighs 200 mg. Some 400 mg tablets can be broken into approximately two halves containing 200 mg each.

With some tablets that is not appropriate.

An example is acidophilus pills. These are almost useless if the are broken open, because most of the bacteria gets killed in the stomach.

Yes you can break a 400 mg tablet in half and it will equal a 200 mg tablet, but not exactly. Whenever you break a tablet, it's always a little uneven, so be careful if it is a strong drug that requires exact dosage. And yes, the mg's have everything to do with how strong the medicine is. Please be careful and check with your doctor first. If this is an illegal drug, please read info about it before you take it. Some are incredibly dangerous. Be smart and be safe!

The pill has 200 mil-grams. So if you cut it in half-it would be 100 mil grams of course. Sometimes a pill can be almost as small as the tip of a pencil, and it can be 25 mg. Nothing to do with weight.

yes you can break a 400mg tablet in two and have two 200 mg. it means that the tablet has 200mg of medicine in it. a doctor prescribed my moms boyfriend 40mg of a particular medicine that was really expensive, and she gave him a prescription of 80mg tablets and told him to cut them in halve to save him money...

200mg relates th the amount of active ingredient in the tablet. Eg if it is a sugar pill, eacg pill would have 200mg of sugar. Then if you broke it in half you would have 2 x 100mg.
It is very dangerous to fiddle with dosages. See your doctor before trying anything different than the prescribed dosage.

DO NOT ever break a tablet into unless it is scored in the middle.

that means there are 200 milligrams of the specific medicine in the pill. and if it is not something like insulin where exact measurement matters, yes, you can indeed cut the pill in half as long as you take the other half as the next dosage.
