i say mainstream because im working with picky vegetarians who don't eat "off the wall" veggies like squash, cauliflower, or even mushrooms and tomatoes.

does anyone have any good, easy to please recipes i can serve for thanksgiving dinner?

Those veggies are far from off the wall.

You can always just make the standard side dishes vegetarian friendly. Those alone are quite filling. Green beans with almonds, mashed potatoes with vegetarian gravy, sweet potatoes, stuffing (read ingredients to make sure there is no animal fat), cranberry sauce etc.

You can also go untraditional and make a veggie lasagna or some sort of veg friendly casserole. Last night I made a Quorn casserole using the tenders, broccoli, breadcrumbs and a cream of broccoli soup. It was the veg version of Chicken Divan.

All fruits are fruit and vegetables. A "vegetable" is a plant, any part of which can be used for food.

In the superstore, fruits are usually picked out much too soon. Some are rocks, many are bitter. Some of the fruit and vegetables are generally right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.
