Eat to live, don't live to eat. It's really quite simple... instead of eating to get that short-term pleasure of eating, you eat what's good for you instead, and get that long term pleasure of feeling good from being healthier. Plus, you get the added benefits of having to take less medication, keeping your weight down, living longer, and things like that. For more info on how to do it, visit my diabetes info webpage:

First, when you want to eat, ask yourself are you tired, angry, afraid, sad, rewarding yourself? In other words are you eating for a reason other than hunger. Second, eat slowly and chew your food well. It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register that you have eaten. Third, make sure you eat a healthy diet. For everything you put in your mouth, ask yourself, "Does this create health or destroy it?" Fourth, eat mindfully. Notice the taste, temperature and texture of every bite. Pretend you are from another planet and having the experience of eating for the very first time.

first always eat SITTING down and make it all fancy, with utensils and stuff, and always put down your utensils whenever you chew.
second, ask yourself questions about the food you're eating.
third, keep a food journal and write down what you eat, when you eat it, and how much you eat it. be sure to write down how you felt before you began eating, what you felt while you were eating, and how you felt after eating.
fourth, in a restaurant ask them to put half in a doggie bag so you won't be tempted to eat the whole thing
fifth, drink lots of water and it'll keep you full
sixth, whenever you go out, ask a really good friend to watch what you eat and to stop you whenever you get to a certain amount
seventh, when eating out don't bring any cards and only bring a small amount of cash. also, tell your friends not to lend you any money no matter how much you beg.

hope this helps

1) If you're overweight, find a diet like Kimkins that naturally suppresses your appetite.

2) If you're normal weight, have foods on hand for snacking that will minimally affect blood sugar including a variety of salads or small amounts of cheese.

3) Keep yourself busy. Boredom eating is tough to conquer if you're sitting on the couch telling yourself not to eat.

Eat 5-6 smaller meals a day. Drinks about 5-6 bottles of 16 oz water a day.

One thing that helps me is to have a small side salad (with low fat dressing) or a low fat soup (broth consistency) prior to eating dinner.

Make sure you eat a hearty breakfast, rich in protein. It will help you feel fuller throughout the day and help you eat less

My doctor prescribed me Meridia which is made for diabetics and those with thyroid diseases(like me). I lost 35lbs now since June on it. What Meridia does is tells your brain your full before your stomach actually is. This allows time to digest the food you need without taking in too much food that ends up stored as body fat. This is not a supplement. Check out Meridia on-line and ask your doctor about it.

I use a food log and try to write down what I am planning to eat before I eat it. By writing it down I can see if it really is worth eating.

eating too much is a matter of not beeing able to enjoy your food without feeling guilty and like that. if the food has no vital force, then you must eat more of it to get your share. if your food is blessed by god you will not suffer from eating it. the best method to get this blessing on the food is to be honest to god. so simple.

I keep in the forefront of my mind a certain pair of pants that I want to be able to fit back in again..and keep in mind how badly I want it..that pretty much keeps me from sticking that extra piece of whatever I'm eating into my mouth....I hope this helps..

Many ways...Work more, don't go near fast foods, don't carry any cash unless its needed, sleep when bored, if stressed and going for the sweet tooth to help ease me out of it I just stop caring about what I'm stressed about coz in the end nothing matters enough to make me stressed about it then theres no need to feed the sweet tooth. Don't eat vitamin tablets or organic foods :-) they create more problems than you think.
