Despite what some people say, herbal remedies just won't fix you. But perhaps you just meant healthy eating? You should avoid foods full of refined/simple sugars - examples include candy bars, processed breads, simple pastas; focus on eating complex carbohydrates, veggies, and low fat meats. You can start the ADA diet - diabetic diet - which we should all probably be on, anyway.
Also, diabetes occurs more frequently in overweight people, so depending on your current weight, you may benefit from weight loss, and be able to get your sugars down that way.

that isn't a bad level at all. Ideally your FBS should be taken first thing in the morning after you wake up. It wont be the exact number each morning either but should in the ball park. You should follow a diabetic diet(everyone should) and eat 6 times a day to help keep your blood sugar level stable. Eating just 3 times(and often too much) dumps too much sugar into the blood stream too fast. Eating smaller healthier meals 6 times a day is ideal. That is ... breakfast,snack,lunch,snack,supper, snack. You don't have to completely abstain from sweets and carbs either. Moderation and common sense works wonders. If you want that 1 cookie, then eat it. Just don't over load on bread and pasta at the same time. Get plenty of fruits and veggies in your diet.You can maintain weight control and help prevent diabetes. Drink lots and lots of water also. Stay away from soda. Alcohol(1 drink a day. no more... red wine is better then beer or whisky ) I wouldn't drink at all if i were you though(especially if you want that little cookie instead). A lot of people think that you have to stay away from sweets but remember that carbs break down into sugar eventually. So like i said, moderation in everything.

Things to avoid are foods with added sugar. Cakes, cookies, ice cream, candy, chocolate. Those are the obvious ones. Other foods that are bad if not limited are carbohydrates. Bread, pasta, starchy vegetables (corn, Lima beans) and potato's.
Things you should have are fresh fruits and vegetables. Be careful to not over do it on the fruits though.
You may benefit from visiting the library to check into diets. Better yet would be to visit a bookstore and find a good diabetic cookbook. These should all have the different diabetic exchange lists and guidelines for healthy eating.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. If you are "pre-diabetic", you will want to exercise, keep your weight down, and eat as if you were a full-blown type 2. That way, you will most likely avoid having to take medication later. You will find several supplements listed on my diabetes info webpage:
