I want something easy to serve and not messy. I am not a good cook at all so it has to be really easy. Thanks

From one lousy cook to another - my standby is a "make-your-own-sandwich" spread. I have trays of sliced croissants, turkey, ham, Genoa salami, swiss, provolone, feta, gourmet olives, spicy mustard, mayo, oil & vinegar. It looks like a gourmet feast, but does not require cooking. You get off the hook this way because your guests get to make the sandwich they really want.

The scrapbook theme would be cute. Like the other answer cut the sandwiches with cookie cutters and get the carrots that are sliced add dip. The napkins could have a stamp on them.
Ribbon on the table holding the knife and fork together.
Run with the scrap booking theme.
You don't have to have a meal just light things.

Costco has these really great mini quiches. Pop them in the oven for 15 minutes or so and that's it! They come in a box big enough to feed 10-15 people. They are always a hit at any party that I have. Add a nice big salad and you are done! If you want to try something different, and walnuts, dried cranberries, feta cheese and small chunks of fresh apples with some greens and serve with Raspberry Vinaigrette. It's yummy, and light and healthy. If you want some desert, add a tray of cookies or brownies and you'll have plenty of food!

I'm not much for the decorating thing, it's time consuming. Getting the house cleaned up in time is a huge task in itself.

Well, of course you know you have to have chocolate. You can have M&M's at the table, cause they wont melt, so your pages wont get dirty - BUT a yummy dessert is to make a regular brownie mix. Then unwrap a number of mini Reese Peanut Butter cups and push them down into the still hot brownies after you take them out of the oven. This is delish! And easy! A little messy - but great when people take breaks - they can always wash their hands before going back to scrap!

Speaking of scraps, it'sgetting cold outside, how about "Stone Soup"? Famous for a time when there was nothing to be found but scraps. You make the broth, and have each guest bring an ingredient to add to the soup. Ideas: Pasta or rice, tomatoes, veggies, meat, seasonings. Anything goes! You'll be suprised how wonderful it will turn out. Have someone bring a nice crusty bread as well.

Its all about Costco. Get the Spinach artichoke dip, you just broil it for about 15 minutes and serve it with tortilla chips or sourdough bread pieces. Also the turkey rolls are excellent (deli section) A veggie tray is no fail as is a fruit bowl. My suggestion would be things that wont get nasty sitting out, so people can keep munching all day!

TGI Friday's has little finger foods that you can buy in the freezer section of the grocery store. Also, you can cut up fresh veggies like cuccumbers, carrots, celery and broccoli and serve them with ranch dressing - I recommend Hidden Valley. Cheese cubes like cheddar and swiss plus mulit grain crackers are a winner.

Make sandwhiches in shapes like a teddy bear or heart or whatever the holiday is. Just use a cookie cutter to cut out the bread slices.

You can do the same if you know how to cut fruit into shapes with cutters.

Interesting question.

How about licorice strings? Everyone has sissors and using them to cut your snack food could be fun. On the same lines, how about some fruit roll-ups?

Sushi is always good... get a platter at your local Publix store.

Here are some suggestions for you:

-we always get lots of mini frozen meatballs and throw them into a crockpot with a jar or 2 of tomato sauce and let them simmer and set out toothpicks nearby, it is always a big hit!
