If you are not planning on serving a meal - you could just put out an assortment of sweets - cut up brownies, small cookies, mini eclairs and other little treats you can make or pick up from your local Costco or Sam's Club.

If you need to put out anything that needs to be kept cool: Prepare several ziploc bags of ice You can put one of these in a larger bowl and a small bowl with the item can be put on the bag and is kept cool.

Fondu pots also work well to keep things hot and are attractive on a table.

Good luck!

Cocktail weiners in BBQ sauce in a crock pot is good all day, your typical veggie tray and fruit bowl is always safe. Costco makes awesome turkey rolls that are good when left out. Pretty much anything thats not going to get cold or crusty!

My favorite recipe for all time!!! Works well at room temperature, and you can make it the day before. Serve pieces already cut, and stack them up on a cutting board. Makes a wonderful presentation. Always requested from many fans!!

Antipasto squares
INGREDIENTS
•2 (10 ounce) cans refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
•1/2 pound thinly sliced boiled ham
•1/2 pound thinly sliced provolone cheese
•1/2 pound thinly sliced Swiss cheese
•1/2 pound thinly sliced Genoa salami
•1 (12 ounce) jars roasted red peppers, drained well, cut into thin strips
•3 eggs
•1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (already have)
•1 teaspoon ground black pepper
DIRECTIONS
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 C).
2.Unroll one package of crescent roll dough, and cover the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan. Prebake it for 10 minutes. Layer the ham, provolone cheese, Swiss cheese, salami, and red peppers, on top of the dough.
3.In a bowl, beat the eggs lightly, and stir in the parmesan cheese and black pepper. Pour 3/4 of this mixture over the peppers. Unroll the second package of dough, and place over the top of the peppers. Brush with the remaining egg mixture. Cover with aluminum foil.

if it's an all day thing, then opt for more appetizers/finger foods. small sandwiches, chips, cookies, brownies etc. Most importantly, stay away from making anything with mayo, cream, sour cream. If left out to long @ room temp. they go bad. Don' t make anyone sick!
