the quesiton is for a friend. i am already in the USAF. i figured one couldnt but i wanted to make sure

No its not even to join while having a yeast infection. You'd have to wait until it subsides to be cleared by the medical personnel at the entry station. That being said we both know AIDS won't "clear up" and the person would be a medical burden on the gov't. Uncle Sam doesn't want to care for the healthy........think about it!

i don't know if you will like my answer to your question. More likely if one does have aids. The military will not let you join, I don't no why, but I have a disorder. that prevents me from getting restful sleep and at one time I was asked to join, but when they found out that I have a sleeping disorder. They flat out turned me down on their offer.

No. Military regulations prohibit a recruit from joining if they test positive for the HIV virus.
