Grey or white areas that show up in the lungs on x-ray could be a number of things, usually depending on where it shows up. It could be excess fluid, mucus (typical of pneumonia), or atelectasis (collapsed alveoli, also typical with pneumonia).

try to give some details
however the white color indicate bone and the black is air
the Grey in between is in many grades and could be (soft tissue,fluid...etc

It possibly means you have a pulmonary edema of some type which can be serious...do you have difficulty breathing (dyspnea)? Anxiety? Pale skin? Any previous cardio-vascular conditions? Please write me at mcc_md@yahoo.com with more info if you want a legitimate opinion from me.
