I'm not sure you have a cold. My daughter started out the same way and has been ill for the past 4 weeks. The doctor told her she has a bacterial infection and put her on antibiotics. She has been awfully weak, like you, had coughing spells, then she came down with the sniffles and ear infection. I suggest you see a doctor and have him prescribe the proper medication. You may need to give a blood sample to determine if it is a cold or an infection. In either case, I hope you see a professional and get the help you need. Get well soon!!!!

I've been dealing with that for the past 4 days. What I've been using is Theraflu. The taste is horrible, but if you add 3 tablespoons of sugar, it tastes just like lemonade. It's been helping me pretty good too. Just drink a glass of it before you go to sleep, and you'll probably get a good 12 hours of sleep, and you'll wake up feeling decent. I've still got a cough, but not as bad, and it's helping me cough all the nastiness up and get the sickness out of my chest.

I swear by Bengay and Vicks Vapor Rub. When you go to bed, rub Bengay on your chest and put a warm towel over it and pin it to your PJ's . The aroma will open your sinuses and help you breath better. You can also put Vicks under your nose too to help open your breathing passages. However, it sounds like you do have a bacterial infection too and need antibiotics for that. Keep yourself warm and stay inside as much as possible and eat alot of chicken soup! Good Luck and hope you feel better.

could be that you have pneumonia... but if you don't want to go to the Dr you should go to the drug store and get an cough syrup with an expectorant in it.. that will break up the mucuc in your chest and allow it to be spat out
Also rest as much as you can and take tylenol for fever
