Cholesterol are lipids
LDL - Low Density or BAD CHOLESTEROL
HDL - High Density or Good Cholesterol
HDL is good hor a healthu but upto a certain level not beyond
In the average man, HDL cholesterol levels range from 40 to 50 mg/dL. In the average woman, they range from 50 to 60 mg/dL. HDL cholesterol that's less than 40 mg/dL is low. Low HDL cholesterol puts you at high risk for heart disease. Smoking, being overweight and being sedentary can all result in lower HDL cholesterol. If you have low HDL cholesterol, you can help raise it by:

Losing weight (or maintaining a healthy weight)
Being physically active for at least 30–60 minutes a day on most or all days of the week
DIETARY FATS

I know one in particular that is really good. Avocados. From what I have read, there is Good cholesterol and Bad. What the avocado has is the Good kind. SO when you eat it, it goes into your blood system and acts like a sort of magnet that the bad cholesterol attaches itself to. This is then flushed out of your system. When selecting your avocados, make sure they are nice and ripe, yet firm.. sort of how you like to eat your pears. I love to put mine in the fridge and have it with any meal. Some like to chill it, and cut it in half, sprinkle some vinaigrette... grab a spoon and you are good to go. I also heard that almonds are good but not the salted ones. The natural ones you can buy at the bulk food stores. Good snack and it lowers your bad cholesterol. May our Lord preserve you brother... spirit, soul and body unto His return. ( 1 Thess 5:23) .... oh.. and remember to exercise:) Love ya in Christ Ur sis sandy

HDL or high density lipids are what are known as "good" or "useful" cholesterol. The best dietary source for these is open ocean cold water fish, like salmon or cod. It can also be obtained in fish oil supplements, if you don't like to eat fish. Nuts, unsalted and dry roasted or raw, are also a good source.
