I would send them out at least two weeks in advance so that people can plan...there's so much going on this time of year...

As soon as you can... and no later than a month ahead of time. For very casual things I'd say always give guests 2-3 weeks notice... but since its a very busy day in a season full of parties, the sooner the better. A month to 6 weeks is ideal.

Send them out now since that is one of the busiest nights in December! Or if a small party, reserve the date and then send the formal invites later.

If people need babysitters that becomes a challenge the longer you wait.

You should send invitations out 6-8 weeks in advance, but for events where headcounts are an issue (i.e. if you're booking a place where you are paying for headcount), then you may want to send them earlier. That's why a lot of "Save-The-Date" reminders are sent as a precursor to wedding invitations.

You should send your Christmas invites now as many people are beginning to make Christmas plans now.

During last two weeks of November you should send out all invites. Christmas is a very busy season and many paople are having chrismas parties and you want yours to be the one they recieve and invite to first and also the one that people consider first.

You might want to go ahead and send those out now. That way if your friends and family were gonna plan to attend another holiday party, they could be invited to yours first, and or make arrangements to attend both yours and maybe their office hoilday party. Have fun and Happy Holidays to you.

my rule is 1 month before the party.

I am officially 3 days late getting my son's birthday initiations out. Luckily all I need is stamps & I've told pretty much everyone to save the date.
