A couple months ago I met this girl. We made out a few times and got pretty serious although we never had sex.
I did finger her downstairs a few times with full penetration with my fingers. I often get small cuts on my fingers from my work.
Now, I stupidly asked her -after- a few times about her STDs and AIDS/HIV thing. However, she seemed to withdraw at that point, and never said explicitly that she didnt have it, just that if I was worried get a test. She just wouldnt say she definately didnt have it. It kind of went downhill from there and I haven't seen her in a while.
Now two months later, I feel sick. it's been that way for a month, nothing debilitating, I worry I did catch HIV and I've got seroconversion illness. Ive got a cough, diarrhea and I have general malaise. I previously in the month had a fever and a very mild rash over my upper body.
I'm terribly afraid to go see a doctor and get tested in case I'm told I am positive.
Can anyone give me some advice???

Symptoms of HIV include: fever, fatigue, and, often, rash. Other common symptoms can include headache, swollen lymph nodes, and sore throat.
Because of the nonspecific symptoms associated with primary or acute HIV infection, symptoms are not a reliable way to diagnose HIV infection. Testing for HIV antibodies is the only way to know whether you have been infected; however, the HIV antibody test only works after the infected person's immune system develops antibodies to HIV. During the "window period" between the initial infection and the period in which antibodies are detectable (which can be from 2 weeks to 6 months, but is usually 3 months), standard HIV testing is ineffective.
You need to go get tested, now. It is better to find out so treatment can be started right away. I know you are scared. HIV is scary. You need to protect your health and that of potential future partners. You don't want to do to someone else what this girl may have done to you. Please go get tested. ASAP. Best wishes and take care. You will be in my thoughts.

Indeed you should get a test done if your worried, however your chances of contracting HIV through touch, even with a cut on your finger are about 1/100 000 of a chance. It is a simple blood test that you can have done anonymously through your sexual health centre or you can go through your doctors office. Either way is the safest bet.

The only way you could have contracted HIV from her is if she had a cut in her vagina and you had a cut on your finger. HIV is a bloodborne pathogen. I think it's much more likely that something ELSE is wrong with you -- maybe something easily fixed, you know? Get to the doctor! You'll feel better. Good luck.

it is very unlikely to transmit hiv this way. it sounds like u need to go to the doctor. im sure that it's nothing to worry about. her fluids need to enter your body to contract the disease and even though u may have some cuts, it's not transmitted this way. my advice is to get to know someone b4 u stick your fingers in her. would u stick your fingers in some food if u don't know where its been?? go to the doctor and have your symptoms treated. if it is something serious, u don't want to let it continue.better to be safe than sorry

Yes you can be infected through a cut! Any entrance into the body is still and 'entrance'!

It takes 10 seconds for the YAnswers question to open for me to be able to click on the [add your answer] button. thus, is my laptop slow?
