when i used to work out at the gym using weights i started getting a similar sort of pain and went to see my doctor as i thought it was my heart, he told me i had torn a muscle in my left armpit and gave me tablets to fix it, but i seriously used to think i was having a heart attack as the pain also shot down my left arm. It could also be severe wind i know it sounds stupid but wind can travel anywhere in the body. But i would get him to your doctors to be safe. good luck.

This could simply be a matter of too much negative stress...and if he has been suffering for a number of years with this condition it is probably not a bad idea to be seen by a cardiologist. Some time people having chest pains at his age could simply be muscles strains...that sometimes mimic pains of a heart attack or Angina attack. The signs and symptoms of heart attack are: shortness of breath, cold, clammy skin, shallow breathing, weak rapid pulse, crushing chest pain, pain radiating down one or both arms, in the neck and jaw and an intense feeling of indigestion. If he is having any of these he should seek immediate medical attention. Angina has all of the same signs and symptoms as heart attack but with heart attack part of the heart muscle is dying from lack of oxygen to that part of the heart...angina is mearly a shortage of oxygen brought on by exursion and causes no lasting effects, however it is a warning sign to heart attack...Best advise...see a specialist.

Your husband needs to see a doctor. You should never fool around with any kind of pain in the chest area - it makes no difference how old a person is or how slim and active they are. It is very dangerous to fool around with pain in the heart and chest area. So get him to the doctor as soon as possible.

IT can be anything from muscle strain to indigest to heart problems to stress. Chest pains, tingling or numbness in the left arm, accompanied with cold sweats are signs that he is in danger of having a heartattack however you don't always exhibit these sympthoms. Best to be safe then sorry! He should get it checked out.

if the pain is in a particular small area and he has no connected symptoms like presperation etc, mostly it is some thing else. heart related pain will be on a broader area like , entire chest, back, shoulder etc and also it has other symptoms also. but it is better to show a doctor to rule out ur doubts

What are the two of you waiting for?! Your husband cannot be diagnosed for cardiac problems thru a "chat" forum! Please do not hesitate to take care of yourselves & your health - make an appointment & see a doctor. Your health is so important. What would your family do if this is a serious condition & you let it go until he ends up hospitalized? It is always better to find out what is causing the pain & treat it if necessary than to let it go & possibly be very sorry. Please, please please! go see a doctor. It may turn out to be heartburn but WHY would you take a chance if these symptoms are recurring?!

This cannot be solved on line. Get him to a good internist for cardiac evaluation and GI evaluation. Heart pain is meaningless.

When I was only 21 i had pains that i thought were my heart, but it turned out to be severe heart burn. Try some OTC meds first, such as Prilosec.
