No. Thanksgiving is traditional turkey and trimmings. Desserts are mostly pumpkin and sweet potato pies. Christmas is either a standing rib roast or baked ham. Sometimes both - and all the trimmings for those. Christmas cookies pretty much make up desserts, though there may be a few cheese cakes or pecan pies.

Last year when we went out for dinner my mother actually ordered a rack of lamb, and I saw quite a few other people ordering it as well. At home, I generally cook turkey & stuffing, plus mashed potatoes, green beans with minced onions, yams or sweet potatoes with marshmellows on to of either, homemade dinner rolls and if a friend of mine comes over I usually have peas for her as that is generally the only vegetable she really likes.
Now, if you don't want to cook turkey, you can cook ham, rack of lamb, roast beef, prime rib, cornish game hen, etc. There are so many things you can cook instead of turkey. You can even do New York steaks, filet mignon (if you do the filet mignon set a place for me! ).
Good luck!

One of my all time favorites is green bean casserole. It's really easy to make and the recipe is on the can of French's Onion Rings. I also listed a website with the recipe.
