how long can i keep the whip cream in a can for?

It totally depends on the expiry date. If bought in a large grocery store it is usually a few months.

You can "keep whip cream in a can" for as long as you like, 2, 3, 4 , 5, YEARS but it wont taste any good after a couple weeks.

Till lt tastes or sells rancid.

Till three or four days after the "use by" date. If it's no good it will be flat if you try to use it.

Check the expiry date and don't go much past that.
