I am going to take a wild stab at the fact you are referring to burning while urinating, if that is the case the answer is yes you can. It is very common after surgery, during surgery they put a catheter in your bladder, in doing that they irritate your urethra which can cause burning. If it persists contact the doctor it is possible you have an infection.

Burning how and where, when you eat, at your incision, when you pass stool, when you move? Was it an open (big) incision or little ones? How long ago was the surgery, did the appendix rupture, is anything going on?
