I am a hospitality/restaurant major in college. My task is to create a professional bid for 400-500 people black tie dinner party. Menu should be by AHA guidelines with realistic pricing structure. I have never done this before and was looking for help by professional

you bid by the plate. without knowing your menu i can't help. but i have to say i am concerned if you can't handle 400 ppl without a game plan.

You bid the plate. These functions could get upwards of $1200.00 per plate. Hope you're up for it.

just the food or decorations, entertainment, alcohol, wait service?

$10-$17pp if you're only supplying food
