I am a diabetic of 28 years. I got it when I was 3 years old. With proper care side effects can be pushed off to not getting any at all. If you do not take care of yourself things can happen like going blind( diabetic retinopathy), kidney disease, nerve damage, thyroid disorders the list goes on. I am sorry to say that I have most of these "side effects". If you or someone you know has diabetes.....Please do yourself a favor and follow what your doctor says.
