EVERY time i refridgerate the leftovers (w/ chicken) from ANY chinese restaurant ranging from the corner carry out to pf changs bistro, the chicken emits this bad odor/taste the next day.

what is it that causes it in only chinese food? i wonder.

I don't know, but I actually stopped getting chicken at chinese places because of it. I can never finish a whole meal and with chicken usually ended up throwing it out the next day. Now I stick with vegetable chow mein

I have never had this problem. I actually like chinese food cold as much as hot. Maybe it is your refrigerator. Put a thermometer in it and leave for a while and check the temp. It should be under 41 and around 35 or so would be ideal. If it is too warm them bacteria will grow and cause spoilage and you might get food poisoning.

I have not had this experience, and I've eaten in Chinese restaurants in China, Taiwan, across the United States, and in England and Scotland. Perhaps this is because I rarely have leftovers when I eat Chinese food.

My wild guess is garlic, maybe reacting with monosodium glutamate overnight.

the problem could b that u r storing it in it's original container. i just recently read that chinese food is no good after 24 hrs if left (even refrigerated) in it's original container. try putting ur leftovers in something else and it'll keep for 3 days, but no longer

i cant say i've ever had that problem, maybe its something in your refridgertor, try putting a box of baking powder in the back of your fridge.that will keep out all unwanted smells and tastes that can attatch to food.
