Symptoms:
-runny nose
-slight fever (102°F or lower)
-severe, repeated coughs that:
-make breathing difficult
-result in vomiting
-produce a high-pitched "whooping" sound when a person takes a breath
-cause a short loss of consciousness
-diarrhea
-choking spells in infants

Sounds like:
-occasional intense bouts of choking coughing start to occur.
-Harder high pitched coughing
-mucus related saliva
-average case lasts up to 7 weeks and I heard some people die from whooping coughs because since they have fear of going to DOCTOR THEY DIED after the 4th week and they turned really red like about to turn darted plums.

I'll only add that whooping cough (pertussis is the medical name) is preventable through immunization. It's given with diphtheria and tetanus (DPT) in the "baby" shots series and should be given as an adult "booster " shot from puberty onward.
