I do know what you are referring to. I did read in a medical journal awhile back about hyperactivity and symptoms similar to ADHD in children being related to a sleep disorder.

I did a quick yahoo search for you and here's an article:

I think you may mean "sleep-related breathing disorder". You may be thinking of sleep apnea and obstructive sleep apnea. They have nothing whatsoever to do with Attention Deficit Disorder and the symptoms bear no resemblance to those of any attention deficit.

Symptoms can include abrupt awakening with a gasping or breathless sensation; moderate to heavy snoring especially when in a supine position; intermittant cessations of respiration lasting anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds with or without snoring; and abnormal daytime fatigue and lack of energy sometimes to the point of falling asleep wherever one happens to be, including behind the wheel of a car.

My ex husband has sleep apnea. He gags and chokes all night long. He stops breathing totally in between. After spending a night in a sleep clinic, he learned he was stopping breathing 12 times a minutes. So they had to put him on a CPAP machine, that fixed things totally. He slept very peaceful after that. I'm afraid I don't see the connection between ADD and a sleep disorder. I hope that this helps. Best Wishes.

You would never get into deep sleep because you'd keep waking up. I don't see any connection to ADD.
