No worries, I am with you. It is indeed irritating. It's especially irritating when the same people are making the comments time after time. It makes me realize that something must be bothering them--either guilt, ignorance to a new concept, or perhaps both. If that was not the case, they wouldn't feel the need to talk about it so often. It is curious to me how people can become so offended by what other people eat. Does it honestly matter if someone chooses not to eat meat? If someone chose not to eat cherries, would people go insane over it? Most likely not, because that is their option. The same should go with choosing not to eat meat, yet people find this horrific and appalling. At least I eat feeling clean instead of depressed for a murder. Just ignore the rude comments, as they are most likely a cry of guilt.

ugh...yes. And I agree with the guy who commented about the restaurants. It takes everything in my power not to roll my eyes when I get offered a salad and baked potato. I had an awesome meal at a Longhorn Steakhouse once though of grilled asparagus and a smoked sweet potato!
My daughter gets asked stuff, since it came up at school that I was a vegetarian. They have been doing a unit on nutrition, and so this monday I am going so that they can ask ME questions about it-I'm pretty excited! :- )

Yes, I totally agree honey some of them are shocking and they take GREAT delight in pointing it out loudly! They scoff and sneer and say things like 'What you need is a nice bit of beef etc...' or 'eat normally, woman where's the meat'??? 'Er, newsflash I have lived for 12 years w/o it!!!!'
Don't get me wrong not all omnivores are this sad, can you imagine if we gave them all the '5 years worth of undigested meat speech..'?? How happy would they be!!
Then there is our little demon, on here!!! His only good point is that he is not identical twins!!!!

yes it is irritating! And people do ask me stupid questions! Housesoft has said similar to what I was going to say. Well there is however a difference.. I don't let irritaters get away with it
if they bug me for being a vegetarian then I bug them calling them eaters of murdered blod flesh cause that's what animals are! I sometimes even go as far to say if You are going to eat meat then why don't you eat yourself? are you not meat? I sometimes even call them a bully for eating meat if they are horrendous with picking on me being a vegetarian! Such nitpickers are as bad as those that accuse one of being gay or fag or
whatever!

Yes, I do. It is very irritating. People try to challenge me and get me to justify why I am a vegetarian. Why are they so worried about it? They act as if I've committed a crime or something.

Yup.Pple will ask whether you'll get full eating veggies only, or will you de-nutrinised?!
I've learnt to ignore them coz, probably they lack understanding on the goodness and benefits of being a vegetarian.
Cheers, my fren
