What organizations are set up to specifically help the AIDS epidemic in Africa. ie. places to send donations, or ongoing fundraisers that are looking for volunteers in North America, etc.

Not sure about specific fundings or orginisations, but the best you can do is actually go over there and start something yourself, or give money to a charity that you KNOW helps AIDS reduction through programs stationed in Africa. Here are some links to charities:

There are many organizations out there now involved in Africa relief. From Bono to Madonna, also Oprah and her Angel Network do much too. Just take your pick.

I would take a look at the crisis in your own backyard first. There are still so many young and old people in the U.S. that feel that they are immune from the disease. More money needs to be spent in this country on Education.
