It depends...for example in the west part of the U.S. (not all the western hemisphere) most ppl use a sweet, smoky and tangy bbq sauce. The east and south of the U.S. use a more mellow flavor sauce that tastes more smokey but not sweet or tangy BBQ sauce...If your talking about East as far as Asian cultures go,then I can tell you that their BBQ sauces are more salty then American ones. With the exception of Korean BBQ sauces which are sweetened with sugar rather than molasses like the U.S. BBQ sauces. But still Asian BBQ sauces dont have smokey flavor or tanginess to them. They are more saltier and have more garlic, ginger and onion flavors.

western is hotter and thicker bbq sauce used

eastern is more tangy less hot more liquidy sauce used

do you mean eastern as in asian style vs western as in american style. OR do you mean Western USA vs Eastern USA
