It really depends on the promiscuity of your partner, same sex or not. Two healthy people in a monogamous relationship who have taken proper precautions to prevent STDs in their previous relationships should have no problems in this regard. To be sure, it's always a good idea to have an STD test done on a regular basis if you're sexually active, and certainly *before* getting involved in a new relationship if at all possible.

Only with gay relationships (as opposed to lesbian). In a heterosexual relationship, a guy would be putting his fluids into the woman's body (that's why women are 3 times more likely to get an STD than men), but in a gay relationship a guy can be on the receiving end of the bodily fluid exchange. For a lesbian relationship however, I doubt that there would be a difference. It might even be safer but don't take my word on that.

Certain STDs are more prevalent in gay circles (e.g. HIV), others in straight circles (e.g. chlamydia). Risk increases when you or your partners have a greater number of sexual partners, and on average gay men have the most, straight men next most, and women least.

yes but viruses (i.e. HIV/AIDS) is like strep throat virus. you need to have it to pass it. if youre clean of everything, as are they u cant get anything. so in a nutshell make sure u both stay clean
