I agree with you. The curry houses generally have far superior tasting dishes and more variety than the chinese. The chinese food all tastes the same, and has all that monosodium glutomate. You can eat a chinese and forget about it. The best indian food is, in my opinion, the Mirsh Masala in Tooting, South West Lonodn.

Well, as much as i love curry and curry houses, i'm going to have to go for Chinese takeaways because it's a place where i can just quickly buy myself a great chicken curry and go home and eat it after work. I had one last night just before i went out for a football match :)
At our local Chinese takeaway, the guy usually gives me some free prawn crackers as well because i go round nearly every 2 weeks i suppose.
Yes i know it's junk food but i never put on weight so i can eat whatever to be honest lol.
This was quite a hard question actually but i will always have to go for a great Chinese takeaway over a curry house.

Well, I couldn't stand to lose EITHER! While I do prefer Indian, especially Punjabi cooking, I just love a lot of the Chinese styles such as Szechuan, Shanghai, Hunan, Bejing as well. These are two of the greatest styles of cooking in the world! Why would you want lose either?
And I do detect from the use of key words such as "curry house" and "takeaway" that despite our asker's use of the words "ya reckon" he must actually be British!
Therefore it begs the question, what would you Brits actually eat if you lost your Indian and Chinese restaurants? Boiled kidneys with dry boiled potatoes and a side of boiled carrots? (Oh, yeah, I once spent 10 years in Britain from 1972-1974) - worst food on God's Green Earth - you lot should wake up every damn morning and give thanks to Almighty God for the British Empire, the Immigration Problem and the Indian Curry House,,,,,,,,

Cool d obviously lives close to a not very good Chinese take away. China's a big country and there are lots of different cooking styles. Same goes for India.
Personally, I never use a take away. I can cook a wide variety of Indian and Chinese meals and have a Chinese and an Indian supermarket within 5 minutes of my flat - on foot of course. For variety, I can buy all kinds of pasta and herbs to cook Italian style in my regular supermarket.

I really like both, but if I had to choose I'd go with the curry house. You can't beat a good curry!

In total agreement. Loose the Chinese and you would have to keep the Indian. No contest.

I would say Indian would go because you need to get accustomed to that kind of food. But chinese takeout restauraunts cater to the american appetite. (it's not really chinese food, like most people think).
