I've been following SBD faithfully for three weeks and have gained 4 pounds--trying to lose about 60 lbs. I walk 3 miles3xs a week and go to the gym to swim about 2 miles a week? Why do you think I am gaining?
I have been eating small meals instead of 3 large ones but all carb-less!

Are you sure you're stickly closely to the diet? I did it for a year, and the only times I hit a plateu was when I cheated. I'd take a look at what you're eating just to make sure.

Something else to consider is that you may not be eating enough for your body to lose weight. Sounds crazy, I know...The diet is very restrictive, and low calorie. If you're in starvation mode, you're storing everything you eat. Try eating another snack. And, toss in some weight lifting! Muscle burns more calories than fat, and it's going to make you look leaner.

Are you on meds? Antidepressants can cause problems with weight, and so can seizure meds. Make sure you're also taking a multivitamin, and that you're drinking enough water. If all else fails, talk to a nutritionist. Maybe they can help. I lost 90 lbs on SB. I know it works, just hang in there.

You need good carbs for the amount of exercise you do. I would see an endocrinologist (MD) to check your thyroid. Hypothyroidism and diabetes are fairly common and could cause the weight gain. Good luck oh, if you are a female, it can also be a hormonal imbalance which the endocrinologist can help you with.
