1) If less people buy animal products there will be less of a market for them and less animals will get killed.
2) It also has to do with animal rights. Animals have the same right to live and be free as we do.
3) With regard to the environment: it takes much more land to feed an animal to maturity to be able to eat it. If we used that land to grow edible plants we would have a lot more food.
4) The population of cattle is unnaturally high. The methane from cow farts is contributing to global warming.
5) It is unhealthy to eat animal products. All of the toxins that have built up in an animal during its lifetime are still there when you eat it. This is called bio-accumulation. This is why most people do not eat animals that eat other animals.
6) For all the propaganda about milk having calcium we cannot absorb calcium from milk. In fact, there is so much calcium in milk that our bodies will flush out some of the calcium we previously had. A cup of broccoli has 1/8 the amount of calcium as a glass of milk but we can absorb more calcium from teh cup of broccoli.
7) If someone handed you a glass of human milk you'd be disgusted.
8) If someone tried to feed you human meat you'd also be disgusted.
9) There are very few animals that will eat a human. The people who do get killed by animals usually provoke them. For example, humans eat more bears, sharks and snakes than bears, sharks and snakes have ever eaten humans.
10) Your teeth are not designed for eating meat. Neither is your body. Most animals that live mostly on meat have very short digestive tracks to get it out of their system before they absorb too many toxins. The human digestive track is miles long so that meat sits in there toxifying us for a long time. We are the only apes that kill other animals and eat them (with the exception that most other apes eat insects).

People hurt, that doesn't mean I'm going to go out and kill one. Some don't consider "human" more of a right than being a "cow". Also, my body feels better- I have more energy...why eat something I don't need too when I can get all the essentials from veggies and grains?

Okay, using your same analogy....
If people who have unwanted children are just going to neglect or abuse them and eventually they will turn to crime and get executed, why not just abort them before they are born or kill them at birth?

If slavery was still allowed, would you want to support it if you believed it was immoral and cruel.No.I know the two don't compare well but it's the same principle.

I'm an omnivore, and yet I can sympathize with vegetarians. I think it's admirable for a person to maintain a vegetarian diet. I do have a bit of trouble understanding vegetarians who avoid milk and egg products.

isn't that like saying why not let your kids play in the streets, as they re bound to get hurt at some point in their life.
Sorry, I realize the comparison is quite foolish, but please, re-read your question, as it too sounds a bit off.
