This can happen either way round: a guy might have symptoms from a particular disease that doesn't produce any symptoms in a woman, or she might have symptoms and he doesn't.
The same disease can produce different symptoms in different people of the same sex.
STD symptoms do not necessarily appear in or near the genitals.
What's more, any symptoms can be different in either partner, so you might have some that you wouldn't associate with an STD, like a slight temperature, or itching (nerve irritation) elsewhere in your body.
Most STD organisms have an 'incubation period' when they can be transmitted but they show no symptoms in either partner.
It's quite likely that you could have been infected. Best get yourself checked out.

Yes ma'am,
You really need to go and checked being a female it takes a little longer for things to show up in us. Within females STD's usually have the characteristics of a Yeast Infection, by that time you have no idea how long you've had this STD and you don't know the damage that could have been done.

Strictly speaking a UTI is NOT classed as an STD, but is easily transmitted by sexual contact, not disinfecting / cleaning the toilet / hands / mouth after contact. Particularly vulnerable are people who have a small ulcer, cut or other small open sore at the point of contact. Once your partner is confirmed as having a UTI it might be advisable to have your urine tested. There does not have to be any discomfort/ discharge or external sign of infection on your paerson. You may just feel a little tired, sluggish and perhaps less alert. Very much of these symptoms depend on your age. People in their mid 50 -60 DO seem to feel the symptoms much more, as they are less active and do not erroneously put them down to a busy/ hectic lifestyle.
If you are worried just give your D/Nurse or GP a ring and ask for his/her advice. GOOD LUCK..

If he was diagnosed with an infection, and he is under treatment, the risk is lower that you can get it from him. However, as men's urinary system is closely connected to the reproductive, there is a risk. UTIs and STDs have not the same cause or way of transmission, but in men they do affect the same place.
Have an urine test and a fresh-Gram stain of vaginal secretions, just in case. Don't have sexual intercourse, or use a condom for two weeks at least.

An STD will (normally) manifest in women sooner than in men. Many STD's don't present with symptoms in men at all. Itching and burning in men can also be caused by a yeast infection and that can indeed be passed on to you.

your partner needs a sexual health screen. it may only be a urine infection but you both need checking out. different infections have different incubation times, and some show no signs for a long time, so its possible that if it is an infection it could have been contracted by previous partner without knowledge themselves

A UTI is not an STD. He could just have an infection. He can't give you a UTI from sex. The symptoms he is having could be related to his UTI. To ease your mind you can get a simle urine test (you have to pee in a cup) and they can tell you.

A UTI is not an STD. a UTI is bacteria in your unirary tract. you can get it from all sorts of things but mostly from holding your pee. Oh if you don't want to get a UTI make sure you pee after sex ASAP...
