HIs PPBA, taken 2 hours after his first bite of food is the best time to check his glucose levels. If his glucose is more than 180 according to the ADA or 140 according to the AACE he needs adjustment to his treatment. He may need medication or more medication if he's already taking it. Anytime his glucose stays elevated he could be potentially causing damage and increase his risk of complications. FBS is important, but if he's usually normal, which 100 is considered normal, he might just need to do it a few times a week. But after meals is REALLY going to tell him how well he's doing, and right now he's not doing very well. Take care.

In diagnosing Diabetes Mellitus, the ideal one should be to get the FBS or the fasting blood sugar. PPBS or the post prandial blood sugar is used in determining if the person is having Impaired glucose tolerance, which is usually a step before diabetes. Some people might have normal fbs but abnormal PPBS. There are medications given for patients with Impaired Glucose Tolerance.
HBA1c or the glycosylated hemoglobin, doesnt diagnose diabetes but is used in monitoring the average blood sugar for the past 3 months. This is to check if the patients sugar is in good control.

RE:
Which one to believe more for diabetes control? FBS or PPBS values?
My father is suffering from Diabetes Mellitus (Type II), [diagnosed 6 years ago].A small complication that he suffered recently made me wonder about the following:
Which value to be trusted more? FBS or PPBS
His FBS is just around 100 but PPBS goes upto 300

PPBS (Post Prandial Blood Sugar) is a more sensitive test for diagnosis of diabetes mellitus. This is because it exactly measures the body's ability to metabolize glucose in controlled conditions
( specified dosage challenge is given at the lab) and monitored afterwards , while FBS (Fasting Blood Sugar) is less accurate because the pre diet and proper fasting procedure might not have been followed correctly by the patient. Your father might be needing medications to maintain his sugar at normal levels. (Normal borderline is only 110 mg/dL for Orthotoluidine methods and 120 mg/dL for Nelson Somogyi methods -) Consult a Diabetologist for proper prescription of medicine.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.
I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

FBS is the best--PPBS is going to fluctuate depending on what's been eaten. The best test actually is the HbA1c--it gives you the average daily blood sugar over several months--under 7 is what you should be aiming for. Ask his doctor to do one and go from there.

Is the postprandial being taken at least two hours after a meal? I think probably it goes down slowly to high hundreds after a meal. The fasting sounds good.
